Though turmeric may be thought of as a spice of India, because it is what gives curry it’s color, it is a common spice of Bulgaria.  It is called “curcumin” in Bulgarian and has so many health benefits it is considered a super spice.  It is in the ginger family with an earthy hot taste.  Here are some health benefits of cooking with turmeric:
