Ingredients:
For Dough
- 2 cups all-purpose bread flour
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp sunflower oil
- 1/2 tsp rapid rise yeast
- 1/4 tsp salt
For Filling
- 1 cup feta, crumbled
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp shortening, divided
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix in oil and salt then flour until forming a ball. Cover with a tea towel and let rise while preparing filling. In another small mixing bowl, mix together the feta and egg. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle a 1/4 inch thick. Spread evenly with 2 tbsp shortening and then the feta mixture. Roll closed and cut into inch thick rolls. Place in small greased baking pan with remaining lard. Let rise to double in size. Bake at 400F for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
