Baba Marta is a holiday celebrated in Bulgaria, on March 1st. Martenitsas, usually in the form of a wrist band, small yarn dolls, or tassels, are created by combining red and white colored threads and are worn on that day and throughout March.

Happy Saints Cyril and Methodius Day From Bulgarian Cooking
Saints Cyril and Methodius and their students are credited with devising the Glagolitic alphabet, the first alphabet used to transcribe Old Church Slavonic and Cyrillic alphabet. The Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabets are the oldest known Slavic alphabets, and were created to translate the Bible and other texts into the Slavic languages.
